Where to find and unlock Proxima

   Complete the prologue and start from Marrow Keep.

   Travel through Widow's Overlook toward Blackridge Pass.
3. 03
   Activate Blackridge Pass, continue north, and climb to the glowing Shattered Beacon on higher ground.
4. 04
   Interact with Proxima's remains; nearby enemies can be avoided and the Beacon does not need cleansing.
5. 05
   Take the offering, use Biosampler on Stranger, finish the prompts involving Stranger and Merrick, and let the memory end.

No mandatory boss guards this unlock. If the prompt is absent, approach the body until the memory effect begins instead of clearing unrelated dungeon content.

How Biosampler and Grafted Armor work

Biosampler

Biosampler hooks a movable enemy and pulls it toward Proxima. Against a large or anchored target, Proxima is pulled toward the enemy instead. The follow-up deals damage and applies Lightning; upgrades add lower Resolve cost, Stasis, stagger, crowd control and enemy-type scaling.

Grafted Armor

Grafted Armor can mitigate incoming melee or ranged damage and prevent stagger on a successful trigger. Treat it as protection during an aggressive action—not permission to absorb every attack.

Proxima skill and upgrade priority

   Attunement: reduce Biosampler's Resolve cost so the defining ability can be repeated.

   Biohazard: improve its damage and Lightning application.

   Seizure: add Stasis and strengthen the control/stagger window.

   Biohunter: build damage against repeatedly sampled enemy types.

   Exoshell: protect the committed hook animation.

   Discharge or Shell Shock: add crowd control or Resolve recovery according to the current problem.

   Collector: equip for specimen and Coin farming, then respec for difficult bosses.

Proxima combat loop

   Use fast melee contacts to fill Resolve rather than firing Biosampler from an empty resource bar.

   Fire Biosampler as an opener or interrupt; remember that target size decides which combatant moves.

   Exploit the Stasis or stagger window with the safe portion of Axatana's light combo.

   Let Duality-assisted contacts rebuild Resolve, then repeat the hook when it creates a real opening.

   Do not commit Biosampler into a boss animation that cannot be interrupted; Grafted Armor is chance-based protection.

Optional Proxima Coin-farming setup

Collector can produce Extracted Specimens from enemies affected by Biosampler. Equip it for enemy-dense routes, tag targets before killing them, gather the specimens, and sell them to Merrick. Move those points back into combat before a hard boss if the farming node weakens the main loop.

Why Biosampler is not working as expected

• Wrong pull direction: small enemies move toward Proxima; large or anchored targets pull Proxima toward them.
• No Stasis: the base ability needs the relevant upgrade before the control effect exists.
• Resolve starvation: prioritize Attunement and rebuild Resolve with fast contacts.
• Unsafe recovery: some bosses ignore the intended interruption; do not rely on Grafted Armor to trigger.
• Weak early damage: Biosampler's complete payoff is distributed across later tiers.
